Summary

LOCATION: Stonehouse
HOURS: 39 hours per week
Morning shift: 06:00 - 14:00 Mon-Thu & 06:00 - 13:00 Fri
Afternoon shift: 14:00 - 22:30 Mon-Thu & 13:00 - 18:00 Fri
PAY: £29,560pa plus 20% shift allowance

Job: Production Lapping Operator – 2 Shift Rotation

We are looking to recruit a Lapping Operator who will be accountable for machining and in – process inspection of customer product. Working a rotating shift your salary will be £35,472pa but with shift allowance £34,830pa.

Responsibilities:
• To prepare and machine customers components to meet drawing / specification requirements
• In process inspection of customer product
• Day to day operation of the 84”, 72”, 60” and small lapping tables
• Filing and dressing of seats and gates as per customer requirements
• Cleaning of components prior to Inspection
• Basic template manufacture and control of all jigs
• Monitor and maintain section consumables
• The correct use of company documentation including the Aventa system
• Movement of work to the correct designated areas around the shop floor
• Monitoring and reporting on all material effecting processing
• Keeping your work environment clean and tidy and practising good House keeping
• Ensure machines are operated according to site and manufacturers recommendations
• Monitoring and reporting on all material effecting processing
• Keep Site Head Of Quality informed about site operation and problems
• Follow company health & safety procedures and disciplines
• Follow and comply with company environmental procedures
• Follow and Comply with all quality system requirements relevant to Job Description
• Keep the working environment clean and tidy and practise good housekeeping / 5S Techniques
• Work with the philosophy – IF IN DOUBT – ASK! AND NO SURPRISE ENVIRONMENT

Requirements:

• Site Internal Procedures including Job Card, measurement, process control, rejection and rework
• Preferably Lapping experience
• General education required with good numerate skills
• Good attention to detail, and problem solving skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings advantageous
• Forklift and First Aid experience advantageous
• Experience in Heat Treatment of metals or metal processing advantageous
