We are currently looking to appoint a full-time Housekeeping Team Leader based at our Care Home in East Kilbride.

Ideally you will be an experienced Head Housekeeper with a valid SVQ2 (or working towards) with experience of delivering the highest quality and standards within a safe and supportive environment for the residents in the service. Coupled with a strong understanding of the National Care Standards and Codes of Conducts

The Housekeeping Team Leader Role

Working as an integral member of the Care Team you will work towards providing a high quality, safe and supportive environment to care for residents in the service. The role can be both physically and mentally demanding, the ideal candidate will be expected to understand, implement and oversee the housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures & Documentation. Facilitate guidance and mentorship of Housekeeping staff within the service, as well as implementing and overseeing the Laundry operating procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the housekeeping team within the service
• Complete daily tasks in relation to housekeeping and IPC along with the housekeeping team
• Maintain records in relation to the work completed that day
• Responsible for ensuring that the housekeeping team are maintaining infection prevention and control within the service as the service IPC champion
• Ensure the waste management within the service is managed effectively including the external bin areas, entrances and exits to the service including smoking areas and the smoke bin
• Record and monitor audits and documents on our electronic system
• Ensure that deep cleans are carried out in line with the schedule
• Ensuring that the housekeeping and Laundry trolleys within the service are clean and well maintained
• Ensuring that a rota is composed to provide satisfactory cover to meet the demands of the service
• Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures
• Work with the Home Manager and Housekeeping team in the service proactively
• Participate in service meetings
• Maintain oversight and participate in laundry services to ensure that IPC standards are being maintained including the management of identification of personal items
• Ensure a safe and caring environment for the people who use our service
• To work as an effective team member to drive quality standards
• To co-operate with other professionals, residents and relatives to achieve the best possible outcome for each resident
• To attend and complete training as required to update skills and maintain a complete record of training
• To attend staff meetings and actively support the development of the service
• To read and be aware of the policies and procedures of the organisation
• To participate in the induction of service based new housekeeping team members
• Manage the supervisions and appraisals of the Housekeeping team
• Provide cover to another service in the absence of another Housekeeping Team Leader
• Effectively manage stock control and the ordering processes in line with the needs of the service.

Requirements:

Ideally working towards or hold an SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care
Experience gained in a health or social care setting
An Understanding of National Care Standards and Codes of Conducts
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Have a passion to deliver high levels of care at all times.
SSSC Registration or willingness to register within the specified timescale.
IT literate
