Summary

We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our well-established, diverse team. We want you to bring your unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to our OT team as diversity makes us stronger.
The Team serves the diverse and vibrant population of the London Borough of Hillingdon. We are located in Uxbridge and a 10-minute walk from the Town Centre. The nearest underground station is Uxbridge Underground (Piccadilly and Metropolitan Lines) or West Drayton Train Station.
There is a visible and supportive management team, and a strong emphasis on training and professional development opportunities. You will have access to regular supervision and will have the opportunity to work with a range of colleagues, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners, OT Apprentices, Peer Support Workers and Employment Specialists.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
You will have an OT-specific caseload, consisting of;
-Assessment,
-Groupwork
-Individual interventions
- Contributing to the community psychosocial therapies we offer with our psychology colleagues.

Applicants must have a qualification in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered in order to be considered for the post.

• To provide the multidisciplinary team (MDT) with an occupational therapy service; this will include individual and group work, assessment, intervention and evaluation in accordance with the College of OT Code of Ethics.
• To manage a caseload of service users; using evidence-based practice, recovery principles and to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.
• To integrate evidence-based practice and skilful use of assessments interventions with personal recovery principles in order to improve the service users’ quality of life and to support them to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead.
• This will include completion of functional assessments from which recommendations can determine further on-going care and treatment to enable optimum functioning.
• To apply a level of understanding of the effects of mental and/or physical health conditions; providing training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the service user’s social and physical environment. This will include undertaking assessments and making recommendations with regards to the provision of equipment/aids and adaptations.
• To undertake the Preceptorship process as outlined by RCOT guidelines and CNWL Trust policy where applicable.
• To contribute to service development of local OT services.
