Summary


B5 Occupational Therapist in Acute Inpatient Mental Health

An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 occupational therapist to join the therapies team at St. Ann's hospital in Poole. The post is based on Alumhurst ward, St. Ann's (Non- Organic Older People' Mental Health).

CPD; clinical supervision and informal learning are at the heart of these posts and the professional development of the post holder will be supported and reviewed yearly through the appraisal process.

The Trust provides a preceptorship program for all newly registered staff and attendance at preceptorship events is supported and encouraged.

Post holders will enjoy team working and be good at managing change. They will advocate for and promote the occupational lives of their patients and will be compassionate towards themselves and those they work with.



The post is based on Alumhurst ward, St. Ann's (Non- Organic Older People' Mental Health). It provides an opportunity for OT's with an interest in this area to gain experience in a supportive context. It offers an opportunity to work closely with, and support colleagues on the other wards at St Ann's to learn about a range of client groups.

This is a full-time role of 37.50 hours per week with some flexibility to meet service need.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggressioncourse and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
