Then a Crerar Hotels Modern Apprenticeship sounds like the ideal path for you.

The Launch of Early Careers Programmes

In partnership with SDC-Learn, we have two industry-leading early careers learning programmes, designed to introduce the next generation of talent to the ways in which they can make a fulfilling hospitality career for themselves.

  • Future Hotelier Apprenticeship
  • Culinary Apprenticeship

Both apprenticeships will be delivered as work-based qualifications, allowing hands-on learners the chance to gain industry on-job learning experience while they are supported towards achieving recognised qualifications. Our early careers programmes will initially open to 16-24 year olds.

1st year – Foundation Year | 2nd year – Development Year

  • Our foundation years will allow apprentices to gain the tools, knowledge, and skills to succeed in optional management qualifications and permanent job positions within areas of the business bespoke to their own development.
  • The development year will be bespoke to each learner who joins the programme and will provide the opportunity to achieve an enhanced qualification.

Within 12 months, you will achieve a minimum SCQF Level 5 or 6 qualification. Within 2 years, you will be able to achieve your SCQF Level 7, or 8 (if you wish) and will have 2 years worth of invaluable on-the-job experience, on-the-job training, new skills, and the foundations for a successful professional hospitality career. Did you know = that modern apprenticeships hold the same equivalent qualification as SQA Highers and degrees? For example, a Level 6 =a Higher, a Level 7 = an HNC, Level 8 = HND.

    • Apprentices will get the chance to visit various properties for a guest experience throughout their programme – each time learning from a variety of subject matter experts throughout our collection of hotels.
    • Quarterly learning workshops hosted by Learning & Development, our General Managers and a selection of subject matter experts throughout the company.
    • Apprenticeship Group Challenge / Professional cook-off for chefs
    • Graduation celebration
    • Staff Accommodation available (subject to availability)
    • Access to all other benefits received as you will be enrolled as a full time team member at Crerar Hotels.
