Summary


The main role of this post will be to manage the Tri borough Clozapine service based in Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith.

The post holder will provide line management and clinical supervision to the Clozapine Nurses and need be for the phlebotomist at times. The post holder will work closely with fellow Clozapine nurses, Phlebotomists and Community Matrons across the 3 boroughs to ensure high quality service delivery and cross cover across the three boroughs.

The role will also involve supporting Clozapine staff to provide a wide range of physical health monitoring and treatment and to participate in development of the Clozapine service across the three boroughs. The role will involve coordinating Clozapine clinics and liaising closely with patients, carers, inpatient units, CPNs, community teams, GPs, Consultant Psychiatrists and others to ensure the wellbeing of patients and to promote the general understanding of clozapine clinic process, medication and monitoring issues.

The post holder will support the team manager in specifically delivering on the following key areas:

Ø To coordinate and lead team functioning with particular focus on:

· Management of referrals including delivery of care

· Performance monitoring and management of the staff team

· Providing line management and supervision of staff.

Ø To deliver a service within the agreed financial envelope ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.

Ø Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team

Ø To take a lead on management of complex cases and supporting staff in management of such cases.

Ø To ensure that the team functions in line with the care group core business.
