Summary

We provide and maintain all the buildings and associated infrastructure across the Force.

The Estates Team at Leicestershire Police are looking to recruit a Capital Project Manager (Minor Works) on a full time permanent basis, based at Force Headquarters.

Leicestershire Police operates 31 buildings across Leicestershire and Rutland. Working alongside a team of engineers, surveyors, and other staff, you will be involved in any building related work, from advising on minor repairs to project managing large new builds. This includes taking projects from feasibility through design using AutoCAD and specification writing, liaising with our Procurement Department for tendering, assessing the best tender and supervising the project on site.

Projects carried out recently include office refurbishments, such as our firearms building, converting a property into a neighbourhood police base, reroofing projects, new carparks and installing new speed gates and other security measures.

Key Responsibilities
-Ensure that the agreed capital and planned maintenance programmes are delivered.
-Undertake site assessments and surveys to meet the objectives of the post.
To manage projects, preparing specifications and schedules, overseeing tenders to ensure project completion in line with Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.
-Occasionally act as the client for new capital schemes, liaising with architects, planners, and other professionals, overseeing procurement and attending project/contract meetings is all part of the work.

The must haves
-To hold a relevant Building HND/HNC or equivalent qualification.
-Significant experience in a project management post of both minor and major building schemes from contract administration through to final account.
-Knowledge of current building regulations, safety regulations and statutory duties.
-Basic knowledge of and able to operate AutoCAD.

Salary – £48,966 - £52,389
For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.

Please note, you will need to be flexible in terms of working location as this role may require you to work temporarily at other locations within the Force area, undertaking a similar role. Due to this, you will be required to hold a full clean UK driving licence, with access to own vehicle and be willing to use for business use.
