£14.61 per hour
Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-12 Midday
Our client are recruiting a Temporary to Permanent CNC Machine Operator and Parts Setter. To be responsible for manufacturing automotive components with a flexible approach and willingness to work within various areas of the shop floor. The post holder will also be required to, as and when requested by the Operations Manager to undertake extra responsibilities as necessitated by business requirements.
CNC Machine Operator and Part Setter Duties
- Operate CNC lathes and/or VMC milling centre to perform precision machine operations
- Check drawing numbers and materials to ensure previous operations are correct
- Load programs, select vice or chuck, select tooling per programs, height and length
- Single block each tool, prove- out job
- Check jobs for measurements, submit for first-off and ensure they are signed
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Run the machines in line with the speeds and feeds called up by the programs and monitor performance
- Carry out in- cycle inspection of the parts produced, using micrometres, verniers and coordinate measuring machine reports
- Multi- Tasking when necessary to support the performance and utilisation of our resources when machinery and suitable product types enables you to do so.
- Ensure good and professional communication is maintained
- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
- Ensure accurate completion of paperwork in line with ISO9001 requirements
CNC Machine Operator and Part Setter Requirements
- Experience working in an engineering or automotive background
- Experience using measuring equipment
- CNC machinist experience in operating Hardinge Bridgeport milling centres or Hardinge lathes (preferred)
- Experience in FANUC and Heidenhain controls
- Good communication both written and verbal
- Mechanical engineering qualification or manufacturing apprenticeship (preferred)
