Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with small groups or individuals with SEMH needs on a full-time basis. Initially, this role will be temporary, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. Our students may present complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, SEMH, and mental health issues.

You'll be providing crucial 1:1 support to children and young people facing various challenges, including:
- Looked After Children
- Anxiety
- Exclusion
- Speech and language difficulties
- Social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties

We're looking for candidates who:
- Have some experience working with children and young people exhibiting challenging behavior
- Ideally have undergone de-escalation training
- May come from backgrounds in youth work or similar roles
- Demonstrate confidence in decision-making
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students
- Show empathy and understanding
- Are eager to enhance their skills through professional training and development

Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Safeguarding training within the last 12 months (essential, though training can be provided)
- Prevent awareness training within the last 3 years (essential, though training can be provided)
- FGM & behaviour management training (essential, though training can be provided)
