Summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) gained Foundation Trust status in April 2016 and our Governor and Membership Manager helps us to meet our statutory duties and ensure we are accountable to the communities we serve.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual for an exciting opportunity that has arisen to join our Corporate Governance Team as our Governor and Membership Manager on an initial Fixed Term 12-month contract (with a possibility for extension) to cover a period of maternity leave.

The post is an essential role which provides for a dynamic, flexible/agile working pattern and individuals with an existing comparable experience in the role or similar would be an added advantage.

The post holder will act as the lead for maintaining an effective Council of Governors as a key statutory function within the governance model of a NHS Foundation Trust. As part of this duty the post holder will be expected to be aware of all relevant legislation and be able to interpret national policy advising the Board and Council of Governors on matters of statute.
The post holder will lead for the Trust the development and management of the membership function. The post holder will be expected to develop and oversee the implementation of the membership strategy across the organisation by providing specialist support, membership engagement expertise and lead on membership recruitment.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for help and support for current and potential Governors and members.
The post holder will hold a key role in supporting Governors to deliver their statutory duties, such as Non-Executive Director appointments to engaging with our communities. This varied role provides an excellent opportunity to work at a more strategic level whilst remaining connected to those we serve.
The post holder would be based at our Trust Headquarters, with in the Corporate Governance Team at Priestley Wharf in Birmingham.
We welcome your interest.
