Summary
ESS are looking to hire a dedicated and reliable kitchen assistant or trainee chef to assist the chef in our busy friendly Community Hub & Café Monday to Sunday
Experience is preferred although apprenticeship applicates are welcome.
Flexible working hours to meet business needs.
Duties include however are not limited to:
· Cleaning and sanitising food preparation areas to establish proper hygiene.
· Washing and storing all cooking appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
· Assisting Chef by performing basic preparatory tasks, including washing, and cutting produce, combining ingredients in recipes
· Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors and wiping walls
· Receiving, labelling, and storing deliveries
· Promptly responding to instructions
· Comply with all food health and safety regulations.
· To assist Chef complete food orders and keep the kitchen working efficiently.
Successful applicates should exercise exceptional personal hygiene, time management, and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner and comply with all food health and safety regulations.
Kitchen Assistant Skills & Responsibilities:
· To assist Chef complete food orders and keep the kitchen working efficiently.
· Ability to perform well under pressure and work quickly and efficiently.
· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to enjoy working with others
· Keenness to follow instructions and prepare ingredients according to the Chef’s directions
· Organisation skills and the ability to keep track of kitchen inventory.
· Knowledge of cooking techniques and methods
· Understanding of health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and storage
· Basic understanding of how to use kitchen equipment.
· Excellent personal hygiene
