Summary

Dean Close School are looking to appoint a Head of PSHE to join our school from September 2024. This is a part time role, up to 30 hours per week, and the salary on offer is depending on experience and with an additional responsibility allowance.

We are looking to appoint a Head of Department to take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of PSHE at our senior School. The Head of PSHE is responsible for leading and managing the PSHE curriculum and related activities for pupils in year 9, 10 and 11 as well as a talk orientated programme for 6th formers.

The role and responsibilities of this position are to include:

  • To develop appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, assessment policies and teaching strategies within the group of teachers responsible for the delivery of PSHE.
  • To manage the PHSE department budget
  • To represent the PHSE department at Faculty meetings
  • To develop, implement and maintain the PSHE programme of study and schemes of work for years 9 – 11.
  • To develop, implement and maintain a programme of PSHE orientated activities and lectures for 6th form.
  • To deliver high-quality PSHE lessons to pupils, utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources.
