Summary

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are currently supporting an Ofsted rated "Good" primary school in Winsford as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support in the EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes due to long-term sickness. This role will be starting after the May half-term and will last until the end of the academic year.

Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting pupils across the EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher to promote a stimulating and engaging learning environment as well as supporting in classroom management to utilise an array of learning resources and promote positive behaviours through behaviour management. You will work with pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, offering intervention and booster, phonics and learn through play sessions and fine motor skills. With younger year groups you will focus on speech and language development and older year groups with independent life skills i.e., how to act appropriately and managing emotions.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last two years, as well as:

  • Experience with EYFS & KS1 framework
  • Able to use initiative in the classroom
  • An NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential
