Summary

Here in the Children's eating disorders team in Maidenhead we are looking for a Family Therapist to join us either at a band 7 or 8a DOE.

You will be providing highly specialist systemic assessment and the planning, implementation, and evaluation of systemic family therapy interventions for young people referred to Berkshire CYP Eating Disorders Service. You will be responsible for assessing young people and their families in relation to a range of highly complex emotional, psychological and behavioural challenges and planning a range of evidence-based interventions.

We are a multidisciplinary team in which you will be expected to work autonomously holding your own caseload and (at band 8a) supporting those under your supervision.

We work closely with a number of external agencies as well as other professional networks and teams across CAMHS which you will be expected to provide specialist consultation and clinical supervision to.

We are very committed to the development of our staff offering both internal and external training opportunities. We provide excellent support and training in working in eating disorders.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00 and are open to both full & part time applicants.
• Providing systemic psychotherapy as autonomous professional employing methods based upon evidence
• Working in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds
• Undertaking detailed and specialist psychological and systemic assessment of adults/children and families using such assessment procedures as may be appropriate
• Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conferences and reviews, etc.
• Maintaining up to date and accurate clinical records

The 4 “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• Masters degree or equivalent
• Previous experience working with families and groups in a mental health setting
• Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment
• Full UK driving license with access to vehicle
