Summary


We are currently seeking a Physiotherapist at Band 5 level to join our rotational scheme. We offer excellent new graduate opportunities and welcome experienced band 5’s wanting to enhance their skills, with strong professional leadership and mixed rotations across East and North Hertfordshire.

The post covers acute in-patients at Lister Hospital, Stevenage which includes respiratory care, including dedicated respiratory rotations with on call opportunities; orthopaedics; care of the elderly; stroke/hyperacute stroke unit; and medical rehabilitation.

In addition our community rotations cover specialist neurology rehabilitation , intermediate care teams and musculoskeletal services.

Our Community MSK rotations are within an integrated MSK service , based at Stevenage, Letchworth, Royston, Welwyn Garden City, Hertford and Waltham Cross with highly skilled, experienced senior staff to support.

The Enhanced Early Supported Discharge team provides specialist neurological rehabilitation in the community. The caseload mainly consists of stroke patients but other neurological conditions are managed. The multi-disciplinary team includes occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists and rehabilitation assistants. The team provides goal focused rehabilitation and works in close collaboration with social care and the voluntary sector.

Danesbury Neurological is an 18 bedded unit offering up to 6 weeks of in-patient rehabilitation to patients recovering from an acute neurological condition. The majority of patients at Danesbury have suffered a Stroke, but conditions also include Acquired Brain Injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons and Spinal Cord Injuries. Working closely with the wider MDT you will be providing specialist neurological assessment and treatment. This rotation includes weekend working (1 in 4 weekends with days off in-lieu).

You will be joining a substantial Band 5 workforce with excellent peer support. We are looking for sound clinical reasoning and communication skills, an ability to work within a team and to be able to use your initiative.

You will be expected to provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients with varied conditions and needs. You will also be able to offer expert advice, guidance and information to other professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
