Summary

Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Care Assistant to join our team in Milton Keynes. This role will involve supporting children with complex needs in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and have experience working with individuals with special needs, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with complex needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, dressing, and toileting, as required by the individual needs of each student.
- Implement personalised education and therapy plans under the guidance of the SEN Teacher or SEN Coordinator.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with complex needs.
- Encourage and facilitate social interaction and engagement among students.
- Monitor and record student progress and behavior, reporting any concerns or achievements to the appropriate staff members.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure holistic care and support for students.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with complex needs students.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within a SEN setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting and nurturing children with complex needs.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with complex needs and the ability to provide appropriate care and support.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and other professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.
