Summary


To ensure that the Trust fulfils its statutory duties to safeguard and protect children and young people as set out in Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), the revised accompanying statutory guidance, this role will ensure that NWAngliaFT is compliant with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and discharges its statutory/legislative obligations and responsibilities with the Head of Safeguarding (HOS).

This role is the named children’s safeguarding nurse as outlined in the intercollegiate document and compliant with the national standards for NHS trusts.

Leading and influencing the development of a robust culture of safeguarding practice across NWAngliaFT and working collaboratively with all services to promote safeguarding. The role focuses on the operational delivery of the Safeguarding People service; using enhanced skills and competencies to influence the pathways of care in the safeguarding of vulnerable children, people and families.
