Summary

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The purpose of the job role is to lead and implement the GBCC’s events programme, with a key focus on driving engagement and attendance. As the Events Manager, you will take ownership of recording, reporting and seeking continuous improvement of KPIs. You will engage collaboratively with key partners both within the organisation and externally, building a network of venues and suppliers. A key focus will be managing and developing the events team, ensuring consistency of processes, and supporting them in development of their assigned events series as well as their professional development.


4. KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Taking ownership of recording, reporting and seeking continuous improvement on key events programme KPIs including attendance, feedback, costs and sponsorship.
• To lead the overall design of the GBCC programme of events, working with the Head of Marketing, Digital & Events, Director of Membership, divisional leads and Director of External Affairs to ensure that our programme continually adapts to the needs, priorities and interests of our members, reflects customer feedback and adds value to the member experience as a significant tool for attracting and retaining members.
• In close collaboration with the relevant heads of department, contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for marketing and promoting GBCC events, ensuring external communications are engaging and maintain a high standard.
• To inspire creativity and innovation within the events team and continually improve and refine event processes, ensure deadlines for securing venues, speakers, commencing promotion and seeking feedback are achieved and colleagues have clarity on their individual responsibilities.
• To fully event manage and lead the operational delivery of the events series to the highest standard of customer satisfaction.
• To build effective relationships and grow the network of venues, suppliers and event partners, looking for opportunities to secure favorable rates and discounts.
• Responsible for achieving the events budget target.
• Ensure effective management and development of c.4 team members by providing coaching, guidance, performance management and opportunities for growth, developing a culture of continuous improvement in line with our values and talent retention within the organisation.


5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential skills:
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing and delivering corporate events, including large scale events (500+ delegates)
• Previous experience in successfully managing and developing teams
• Previous experience of utilising CRM systems and data to support event processes and gain insight
• Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders on the development of events programmes
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications and other system applications

Desirable skills:
• Experience in a B2B environment
• A full, current driving license
