Summary

The Higher Education Progression Partnership (Hepp) is a longstanding collaborative widening participation initiative jointly funded by Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield to improve progression to university from socially disadvantaged areas in our region.

We strongly believe that higher education should be an option for anyone who aspires to go and we want to ensure that all students have the knowledge and confidence to progress into higher education regardless of their background, gender and ethnicity.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated team working on an initiative that will make a real difference, ensuring that significantly more people in our region progress into higher education, and improving the lives of people from underprivileged backgrounds.

You will:
• Coordinate Hepp's school and college visit programme for designated areas in the Sheffield City Region, ensuring all visits are effectively planned, staffed and evaluated.
• Have a cross team responsibility for maintaining our web presence and supporting the development and delivery of Hepp’s vulnerable groups provision “Go Further Go Higher” .
• Liaise with partner organisations to ensure a collaborative approach.

As a Hepp Regional Activities Co-ordinator you will engage with and encourage local schools and community groups to help them show young people that higher education is a viable option for them and one which they should consider.

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive and flexible approach, and be able to work independently and as part of a team of regional co-ordinators.

If you are offered this post you will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.

For this job we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area/ this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.

The University is unable to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role.
