Process-Driven Electro/Mechanical Assembly Team Leader

We are currently seeking an Electro/Mechanical Assembly Team Leader to join a dynamic team based in Aldermaston, UK. As the Team Leader, you will oversee a small team of technicians and play a crucial role in modifying and testing various products to meet customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include reviewing product design processes, interpreting technical documentation, managing production schedules, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of assembly processes.

Whilst we do note assembly an production, this business does not have an assemble line as such but moreover modify and bespoke stock items focusing on meeting customer needs and ensuring timely RMA turnaround.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing production schedules and ensuring the quality and efficiency of assembly processes
  • Review product design and planning processes for production.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including drawings, diagrams, and work orders.
  • Assemble and test various products according to specifications.
  • Conduct functionality and safety testing of modified products.
  • Verify products against specifications before shipping.
  • Develop assembly and test processes for new products.
  • Produce rework instructions and test specifications.

We are looking for:

  • A process driven, super organised approach
  • Previous experience in a similar hands-on manufacturing role would be great.
  • Ideally, you've got an HNC Level or equivalent in Electrical and/or Electro-Mechanical engineering.
  • You should be good at communicating and building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding assembly and testing processes and knowing your way around manufacturing techniques is important.
  • You should be pretty handy with soldering and assembly techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are a must, and you should be able to get your head around technical details.
  • Experience in modifying products to meet customer requirements.
  • Being able to juggle processes efficiently while keeping customers happy is key
