Summary


We are offering an exciting opportunity for a ST1 post in Trauma and Orthopaedics. This post is offered on a fixed term contract starting at the beginning of August, initially for 12 months.
To participate in the day-to-day provision of routine and emergency surgical and trauma care appropriate to your level of training on the wards, in theatre and in clinics.
A weekly timetable ensures a mix of duties to develop your experience and further your clinical knowledge. You will be required to keep accurate notes that are dated, legible and signed, undertake VT Assessment and EDN as required.
Responsible for care and day-to-day clinical management of inpatients of the Consultant for whom you are working.
The bulk of patients are elderly with fragility fractures, mainly fracture neck of femurs. There is a specific pathway which we have to legally adhere to. We expect the candidate to be able to provide reasonable care for these patients with the help of our senior team and the in-house ortho-geriatric team.
Team approach
The holder of this post will work as a team with the existing Consultant team, and will complement the service provided by the department. There are regular weekly team meetings and Multidisciplinary meetings. In addition to this, there are regular audit meetings across the Care Group, which will support with your learning and development.
