Our Estates team is currently recruiting an Estates Team Leader (Building) to work within our wider estate team.

You will be assisting the Estates Officer by effectively leading and supervising the building trade staff in the installation, maintenance and repair of physical assets (plant, equipment and services).

The ideal candidate will be a technician with a building services background and be able to carry out trade related roles and duties and the role with minimum supervision.

The main responsibilities of the role are to ensure all workshop staff are utilised effectively to organise and carryout day-to-day breakdowns, Planned Preventative Maintenance, to diagnose and repair technically advanced faults, along with new work as required.

The Estates Team Leader will monitor, advise, review, and provide feedback to the trade staff. They will be required to assist in carrying out the objectives of the Estates and Facilities Department.

The post is for a 37.5-hour week Monday - Friday.

Supervision of the building trade staff.

Issuing maintenance jobs to all trades via the MICAD helpdesk.

To complete all mandatory training as required.

Supervision of non – building trade staff.

Cover the other trades Team Leader in times of absence.

Liaison and communication with other departments regarding maintenance activities.

To assist and give guidance to trade staff and contractors where necessary.

Operate relevant permit to work systems.

Assist in carrying out annual appraisals of maintenance staff.

Implement Trust and local policies and propose changes to departmental practices where appropriate.
