Summary


The Clinical Support Unit for CAMHS within Manchester Foundation Trust was awarded an "Outstanding" rating by the Care Quality Commission both in 2016 and 2019. North CAMHS is constantly recognised within RMCH CAMHS as a supportive and friendly team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to support the leadership team in delivering and developing a high quality mental health service for children, young people and those who care for them. North Manchester CAMHS work with children, young people and families aged up to 18 years who present with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are seeking to appoint a committed professional to join our experienced and highly motivated core team, based at The Bridge. The team are supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses and AHPs in a warm friendly environment where staff wellbeing is as equally valued as the high standard of patient care that we deliver.

We believe in the development of our staff and offer regular clinical and managerial supervision alongside annual appraisal to identify opportunities to take you forward in your career and enhance the care we provide.

To support the lead psychologist and others in the service in the systematic provision (including organisation and management) of a high quality specialist clinical psychology/psychological service to children in North Manchester, and across all sectors of care, in the context of a comprehensive and integrated CAMHS. Services will include specialist assessments/interventions, group work, staff training, consultation and support/provision of psychological advice, inc multiagency liaison around complex cases. To supervise/support the psychological assessment/therapy provided by other psychologists and other clinical members of the multidisciplinary teams who provide psychologically based care/treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service. Take a key role along with others for carrying out departmental audit, policy and service development/service evaluation. To support and supervise departmental research programmes.

To support the leadership team in representing clinical psychology/psychological services and CAMHS within North Manchester in multiagency development groups relating to community and primary care services. To support the leadership team in non-clinical activity.

Effective working relationships at all levels within N. Man. CAMHS, Children’s Services, Community Health, Education and other partner agencies will be required.
