Kirkliston Primary seeks to appoint a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic individual with an excellent track record in Primary teaching, who will play a key role as Principal Teacher within our Senior Leadership Team. Leadership and management experience is desirable.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for a stage across a CfE; including PRDs and ASN co-ordinator for the level. As a whole school remit, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for Digital and ICT. As ASN lead for a stage, a good working knowledge of GIRFEC and experience of chairing Child Planning Meetings is desirable.

Kirkliston Primary School serves the village of Kirkliston and the surrounding rural area and has a wide social mix. The school is part of the Queensferry cluster of schools. The roll is approximately 630, spread over 22 classes.

Our staff consists of Head Teacher, 2 Depute Head Teachers, Business Manager, 2 Principal Teachers, 22 class teachers, 2 Additional Support for Learning Teachers, a family support teacher, Specialist Teacher of PE and instructors of strings and brass. Our support staff include a School Administrator, Clerical Assistant, 1 EYP, 2 Pupil Support Officers and 20 Pupil Support Assistants.

CEC internal employees who wish to apply for this post as a secondment, must have the permission on their line managers before submitting an application.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
