Summary
Position: Asset Management Lead
Location/Department: Strategy & Planning, Housing Sector
Grade: Band 7
Reports to: Assistant Director Strategy & Planning

Key Responsibilities:
Uphold SHP's Values, Behaviors & Leadership expectations at all times.
Lead and motivate a small team responsible for asset management, investment, development, and disposal.
Manage the Quantity Surveyor and Client Manager.
Ensure environmentally sustainable and cost-effective management of the Council's stock and future developments.
Maintain the Decency of the Property portfolio through planning and delivery of major works programmes.
Key Outcomes:
Informed decisions regarding asset use, investment, and development.
Implementation of systems and policies to support data collection and strategy formulation.
Robust contract management practices.
Compliance with LB Sutton requirements and SHP financial regulations.
Skills & Experience Expectations:
Essential:
Knowledge and experience in the Housing Sector with a focus on Asset Management.
Strong planning skills with experience in stock condition systems and programme planning.
Financial & Budgeting skills including forecasting and risk management.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in communication complex information effectively.
Experience in managing contracts, projects, and service providers.
Highly skilled in data management and analysis.
Knowledge of Land Law, title management, and GIS implementation in housing.
Understanding of HRA formulation and asset investment forecasting.
Desirable:
Drive and innovation in asset management.
Experience in developing systems for assessing NPV and social value.
Proficiency in producing executive-level reports.
Ability to devise and introduce systems for managing service providers and VFM.
Experience in formulating short and long-term investment plans.
Alignment with environmental targets and strategies.
Commitment to providing high-quality asset management services.
Contribution to wider borough objectives for regeneration and new developments.
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
