Job Title: Support Worker

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours / days: 32 hours per week (minimum) , shifts generally 9:00am – 7:00pm. Weekend availability as required
About me:
I am a very happy and cheeky 5-year-old boy who lives with my family and buddy dog called Charlie. I have a brother and sister who are very important to me. I love to play with musical toys, and you can tell when I am having fun as I like to make high pitched noises when I’m excited! I also love being outside, especially going to the zoo, and watching films at the cinema. I’m looking for a support worker to help take care of my daily needs and to support my development. You will need to be able to drive my family’s wheelchair accessible van. While previous experience would be desirable, all training will be provided.
General duties and responsibilities will include:
· Tube feeding
· Personal care
· Administering medication
· Making daily notes
· Support me with attending hospital appointments
· Keeping me safe
· Learning on the job
Person specification:
Essential:
· Good communication
· Willingness to learn
Desirable:
· An understanding of complex medical health needs
Summary terms and conditions:
· The rate of pay for this position £13.50 per hour
· 32 hours per week minimum
· Flexible around hours, weekend availability
· No phones are to be used while working, except for emergencies or uncles discussed prior
· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement)
The post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this position if successful
· Post is subject to a 3 month probation period
· The successful applicant will be required to provide details of two referees, one of which must be their current or most recent employer.
