Summary
Band 2: Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer – Dispensary.
JOB SUMMARY
To assist Pharmacy staff in the provision of basic Pharmacy services in the dispensary, and Top-up services for stores and distribution.
You will gain experience in patient services for both in Inpatient and outpatients, pharmacy and top-up services..
You should be enthusiastic, motivated, accurate and methodical in your approach to work. The pharmacy department actively encourages continuous professional development, education and training. You will be supported through a training programme to enable you to achieve the NVQ Level 2 (Dispensary only) in Pharmacy Services.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with reception service in the outpatient pharmacy, taking payments and giving receipts for prescriptions and forward for processing.
Assist in daily cash reconciliations of prescription charges in accordance with financial policies.
Accurately label and dispense TTA’s, in-patients and outpatients prescriptions.
Provide a general housekeeping service to each rotational area, including cleaning of aseptic unit and dispensing areas, according to standard operating procedures.
Assist in the supply of pharmaceutical products, to wards and departments, in accordance with agreed stock lists.
Assist with the top-up service of stock drugs to the, wards and departments within the hospital and pharmacy night cupboard.
