An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist care to the home dialysis patients.

You will be involved in supporting the team and the patients during their dialysis training and will be working in the community providing support to the community patients and their families.

This post will be working across sites covering Aintree & Royal home therapies units, but will be predominantly based at the Aintree site.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive team providing comprehensive care and support to patients and relatives.

Essential qualifications - driving license

Essential experience - 6-12 months acute NHS ward experience

The role involves supporting the team & patients during training & visiting the established home dialysis patients in the community.

You will be checking blood pressures, weights, taking bloods, dressing reviews and delivering education as requested by the clinical team.

The post is open to applicants currently working as band 2 or band 3 health care assistants who are interested in pursuing and developing a career within renal dialysis setting. Training within the unit will be provided. You will be supported and trained under the supervision of our experienced and dedicated renal team.

This role will require the post holder to work in the community as a lone worker at times.

• Plan home visits
• Obtain specimens as requested and ensure safe delivery to the lab
• Perform patient observations including weight, BP heart rate etc & escalate concerns
• Complete relevant documentation for all home visits
• Work with the specialist nurse team to provide specialist education & support to the patients receiving a home dialysis
