Summary

Position Available: English Class Teacher - (SEN)
Location: Harrow
Salary: Paid to scale
Starting: ASAP
Contract Type: On-going (Temporary to permanent)

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 5 days a week
- Experience working with SEN needs or challenging behavior
- DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

Hours:
- Monday & Wednesday: ⏰ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Tuesday: ⏰ 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Thursday: ⏰ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Friday: ⏰ 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Roles and Responsibilities:
As an English Class Teacher working in a PRU, your roles will involve:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons to GCSE students, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
- Providing support and encouragement to students, helping them to develop their language skills, confidence, and literacy.
- Implementing behavior management strategies to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborating with other staff members, including SENCOs and support workers, to support the holistic development of students.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to inform future teaching and learning strategies.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

About the Needs of the Pupils:
The students come from diverse backgrounds and may face various challenges, including behavioral difficulties, social and emotional issues, and learning differences. As such, they require additional support and understanding to help them succeed academically and personally. The successful Teacher will demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting these students on their educational journey.
