Summary

We are a supported living organisation who specialise in providing bespoke packages of support to people with learning disabilities & complex needs to live in the community in their own home.

Orbis primarily supports adults & young people with learning disabilities, Autism, behaviour that challenges, enduring mental health difficulties, physical disabilities.

We are recruiting a Full-Time Female Service Manager to provide support, to two ladies with complex health needs. The right person would need some moving & handling experience & a driving licence. Preferred experience & knowledge of BSL, peg feeding, suction, catheter care & personal care. This role involves providing 24 hr support with varied shift patterns – we pay £15.50 per hour & NMW for sleep in’s


Key responsibilities include:

To take full responsibility for the effective daily operation of your designated service.

To support the staff team to develop their skills & understanding of the supported person

To work directly with the Operational Manager & Senior Manager for the daily running of the service

Ensure all policies, procedures, & guidelines for the support of the individual are met.

To carry out staff supervision, mentoring, team meetings & appraisals, authorise annual leave, book staff training, complete return to work interviews

Ensure all risk assessments & support plans are within date & updated when needed.

Ensure effective communication with all other parties that may be involved.

Be part of the interview process for new staff, ensuring they are mentored & onboarded

To drive the mobility vehicle of the person being supported

Complete rotas & timesheets, ensuring training, leave or sickness is allocated to rotas, complete monthly payroll reports

Be responsible for managing finances within the service

To update on-line data bases such as Coolcare, Nourish & e-Mars

To be part of the staff team & work shifts (you will not be required to work nightshift)

Ensuring the supported person has a Person-Centred Plan (PCP) that is updated regularly.

Be part of the on-call system, to be on stand-by & available to cover services when needed, take calls to offer advice & support.

Be responsible for managing the environment & ensuring that Health & Safety is adhered to & report any issues or repairs required.

Ensure that the service complies with CQC regulations.
