Summary

Join my clients’ dynamic accountancy team in Elgin. A leading firm dedicated to delivering excellence with a number of branches in the North of Scotland.

My client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Account Assistant to join their professional practice in a supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks with accuracy and efficiency. As a Senior Account Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the accounting team and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes. Must have experience of working in an Accountancy Practice.

Responsibilities:

Be the first point of contact with clients queries and escalating queries as appropriate to the correct person
As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the senior management team in driving process enhancements, strategic planning and decision making
Supporting junior members of the team
Preparation, support and management of client bookkeeping and VAT returns
Assistance to clients with month-end and year-end reports
Provide support during audits and other financial examinations
The provision of general practice and client administration support
Requirements:

Would suit AAT or part AAT qualified
Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, in an Accountancy Practice for a minimum of 3 years
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lead a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
