Summary

Overview:
We are recruiting to a new post to support the facilities team which currently consists of the Facilities Manager, Pre-planned Maintenance and a grounds team. The role will involve carrying out skilled DIY and general maintenance work across all aspects of the onsite and off site properties both internal and external.
The role will require general DIY and previous experience in general maintenance including; basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical works, replacement of tiling, painting and decorating. The role also includes compliance checks and paperwork which needs completing daily, weekly and monthly.
The range of tasks will include:
Reactively maintain the internal and external fixtures, fittings and building fabric our of property portfolio
· Carry out property inspections including checks and assessments of both individual and communal areas reporting finding to the Facilities Manager
· Undertake, to an acceptable standard:
o Painting
o Decorating
o Tiling
o Carpentry repairs
o Basic plumbing
o Basic electrics
o Wood treatment including fence repairs
o Undertake general facilities support tasks, including furniture building and furniture removals and keeping areas clean and tidy generally.
· General porterage
· Recycling and rubbish collection
· Respond to emergency maintenance call outs on a rotation basis
· Manage and prioritise own work load, planning work tasks around residential and supported living property requirements
IT literate would be an advantage
The job holder will be required to work safely and ensure that all risks are assessed prior to commencing a job thereby ensuring the safety of the job holder, residents, visitors, staff and also the protection of furniture, floors and equipment.
The right candidate must have excellent communication skills as they will be dealing with the staff, residents, visitors and external contractors and occasionally regulatory bodies.
Flexibility will be important as occasional work needs to be carried out on evenings and weekends, call out charges are applicable.

The successful candidate will require two employment references.
