The role
As a Storekeeper, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of experienced logistics professionals, that provides critical warehousing and distribution outputs to our customer, the Royal Navy, in order to maintain its fleet of Warships and Submarines.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organised warehouse environment.

  • Receiving and verifying incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Preparing outgoing shipments, including picking, packing and labelling products
  • Accurately recording and updating inventory data using our inventory management systems
  • Safely and efficiently operating forklifts, pallet trucks and other warehousing manual handling equipment
  • Inspecting and reporting any equipment that does not meet our quality levels

This role is full time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Storekeeper

  • Previous experiences in distribution or warehousing
  • Preparing outgoing shipments, including picking, packing and labelling products
  • Accurately recording and updating inventory data inventory management systems
  • IT literate, and can use basic Microsoft Office programmes

Qualifications for the Storekeeper

  • Full driving license is preferred, but not essential.
  • Holds an existing licence or is willing to undergo forklift truck training.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
