Summary


Interviews are due to take place on 10th June 2024.

This is an IMT2/IMT3 (SHO) level post based at The University Hospital in Coventry (UHCW). This post principally involves in-patient cover and on-call commitments for neurology, neurorehabilitation, stroke and neurosurgery patients on the three neuroscience wards and any Medical outliers within the Trust.

Our Neurology team are looking for a proactive, forward thinking and dynamic individual to join the Neurology team. The Neurology team sits within the overall department of neurosciences comprising of Neurology, Neurological Rehabilitation, and Neurophysiology.

• Clinical responsibility for assisting in the investigation, diagnosis and treatment, under consultant supervision.
• Diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders
• Ensure the appropriate reception, clinical management and referrals of all patients attending the neurology department.
• Participate in the on-call rota.
• Play a full part in the audit process.
• Liaise with other clinical specialists to ensure the appropriate transfer of care for patients to other specialists.
• Ensuring adherence to departmental, Trust, regional and national policies including patients’ charters, standards and clinical governance.
• Expected to attend consultant ward rounds; present cases and discuss the differential diagnosis and management; carry out appropriate practical skills with patients.
• Responsible for maintaining a full clinical record of patients admitted to the ward; required to produce a written summary of the admission at the time of discharge; will participate in the audit data collection and attend clinical governance/audit meetings.
