About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join St Luke’s retail team as we expand our shop portfolio and enhance the supporter and colleague experience. As a Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in our expansion and innovation projects while generating vital income to support our mission. You'll lead a diverse team of staff and volunteers, promoting the work of St Luke’s and emphasizing the benefits of sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the shop effectively to achieve budgeted sales targets on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Plan, record, monitor, and control income and expenditure budgets in collaboration with the Area Shop Manager and Head of Retail.
Implement innovative sales, merchandising, and donation strategies based on competitor activities and industry trends.
Foster excellent customer service and public relations, acting as a St Luke’s ambassador within the local community.
Maintain high standards of merchandising, shop floor presentation, and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with donors, local businesses, and organizations to secure high-quality stock donations.
Lead, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring adequate shop coverage and effective resource management.
Ensure all administrative tasks, including banking, reporting, and volunteer management, are completed accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
Previous experience in managing a successful retail shop, including budget management and team leadership.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional evenings.
