Summary

Here at Capita Entrust we have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional to join our fast paced and friendly team as a Governance Consultant for the Governor Services team.

This is a highly varied role with tasks including termly updates to the governors we support, board health checks for new clients where you will make recommendations for any improvements and assisting with queries on governance matters including regulations, processes and procedures. We are looking for someone with good knowledge of school governance and a background in education, this will allow the successful candidate to relate to those that they are assisting and have in depth knowledge of the challenges that they face day to day.

The Governance Consultant will provide essential support to the schools that we work with and enable them to ensure that they are working inline with current legislation and handling education matters in the correct way.

These roles are home based and as such we are happy to consider candidates from anywhere in the UK with the right skills and knowledge

What you'll be doing:

• To write and deliver termly briefings for Clerks, Chairs and Vice Chairs.
• To produce the governance updates for the termly Governor Information Pack.
• Produce the termly suggested agenda.
• Making of IOGs for Maintained Schools.
• To carry out 'Board Health Check' as required for new clients to review processes and procedures and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Answer Governors enquiries relating to regulations, process and procedures. Providing clerks and governors with accurate, up to date advice and guidance. Within the service set deadlines. And to maintain a record of these enquiries and the response.
• GovernorHub (Champion): training for new clerks, training for schools, posts and uploading, demos for schools, liaison with GH, switching schools on and off, setting schools up on GovernorHub once their info has been received.
• Advice and guidance for Clerk Team Leads as required.
• Lead clerking QA process, ensuring that the work of all clerks is reviewed in accordance with the QA schedule and policy. This will include leading a termly 'moderation' meeting with Clerk Team Leads to ensure that minutes are QA'd appropriately and consistently.
