Summary


The Health Records Department consists of Six core services based over three sites, and serves all Directorates and our patients. In this role you will provide leadership and expertise within the Subject Access Request team.



This is an exciting opportunity to become a line manager within our expanding Subject Access Request team. You will be overseeing the Department’s response to SARs made under the Data Protection Act (DPA) by patients and their representatives, and managing the team who will be determining what personal information can be disclosed and where it is appropriate to engage an exemption to withhold information under the DPA. A flexible, positive and can-do attitude is vital, using your resource to support the team where needed to achieve full compliance with all the SARs it receives. You will join a large team that is looking to investigate the use of new technology available to manage challenging work and increase efficiencies.

• Paddock Wood Health Records – Subject Access Request Team Leader• Full time position: 37.5 hours per week (this may include Saturday working on a rota system, working pattern will not exceed a 5-day working week)

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the Health Record teams deliver high quality core services across the organisation, by leading and managing a team to include managing attendance, daily KPI’s, and the implementation of standards relating to Health Records practices, policies and procedures. They must be pro-active and work with relevant staff and departments to meet the changing needs of the Trust. The work can require manual handling duties (lifting boxes up to 9kg) and be mentally demanding.

Successful applicants will require:

· Ability to co-ordinate and monitor the day to day operational issues within the Healthcare Records core services, ensuring that an effective and efficient service is provided to all service users.

· To ensure compliance/requirements with Health Records related statutory regulations and that legislation relating to the retention, preservation, and destruction of clinical records and associated documents and all other requirements are adhered to by all staff.

· To ensure healthcare records for subject access requests are located and disclosed in accordance with current legislation, Department of Health guidance, Trust Policy and Information Governance toolkit standards for patients and their representatives.
