Sherwood Oaks is a purposed designed 70 bedded Adult Mental Health Inpatient service located on the outskirts of Mansfield.

The hospital has 4 single sex wards and a hospital-based place of safety (Section 136 suite) all providing single person accommodation with en-suites. Sherwood Oaks Hospital provide high quality care 24 hours a day 7 days a week to people over the age of 18 from Nottingham City and County who are experience a range of mental health and emotional difficulties.

We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to join our existing dynamic multidisciplinary teams to be involved in holistic assessments and interventions to support the planning and delivery of patient care. The multidisciplinary teams all work in a way that is collaborative, evidenced based and responsive to people’s needs.

To effectively plan and implement high quality Occupational Therapy input with Service Users on the acute adult mental health wards at Sherwood Oaks Hospital, Mansfield.

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and will provide a variety of individual and group occupational therapy interventions to a diverse range of service users, both on the wards, in the therapy area and when appropriate in patients homes.

You will liaise with a range of agencies and services across Nottinghamshire.

You will manage a variable clinical caseload, working with people with a diverse range of needs towards an effective discharge from hospital.

Professional and clinical supervision will be provided by an identified Occupational Therapist and you will link into the wider network in Nottinghamshire working co-operatively with colleagues to ensure high quality service provision and gain opportunities for support and Continued Professional Development.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.
