Summary


To provide a flexible and efficient administrative service to the Imaging (X-Ray, CT, MRI & Ultrasound), departments by working within the Administration Team- this post is mostly Reception duties.

The proposed start date for this post is 1 September 2024 to enable training to take place ready for go live of the CDC in October 2024.

The post holder will be responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical functions on a rotating basis between the reception areas, booking offices and back-room offices

To work flexibly in supporting the Trust’s directive of 7 day working and participating in rota / shift patterns. The CDC will be open 7 days per week from 07.30 am until 8pm and the Reception will be manned during these hours

You will be expected to display a pleasant and caring approach, especially when dealing with patients

Receive and assist patients and other visitors in a friendly manner and deal with their enquiries appropriately with regards to the departmental policies and guidelines.



Operational use of Diagnostic Information Systems (e.g., Lorenzo & RIS) to register patients attending the departments for examination, ensuring the data entered is accurate and correct.



Relevant training is a requirement on all IT systems within Clinical Sciences.



Answer telephone queries in a timely manner, referring the caller to the appropriate person where necessary.



Work with other patient administration departments in line with the continuing needs of the NHS Plan and other developments in health care.



Adhere to the Trust / department policy regarding uniform and maintain a neat and tidy appearance suitable to the post.



Attend any relevant training courses necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the role and maintain personal development.



Understand and adhere to the concept of Confidentiality to ensure that this important aspect of care is not breached.



Safeguard at all times the confidentiality of information in relation to patients and staff. Information relating to identifiable persons must on no account be divulged other than to an authorised person.



All employees have a responsibility to participate in regular appraisal with their manager and to identify performance standards for the post. As part of the appraisal process, employees have a joint responsibility with their line manager to identify any learning and development needs in order to meet the agreed performance standards.
