We have a position available for a Coffee Shop Supervisor for our coffee shop/deli in the Health and Wellbeing Centre. We are searching for an engaging, courteous Barista who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and education. The Coffee Shop/Barista supervisor will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks.

The Coffee Shop Supervisor is accountable for the effective day to day control and direction of all Coffee Shop/Barista assistants. Furthermore, the Coffee Shop Supervisor is responsible for the provision of a high quality; efficient customer orientated catering service and compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.

This vacancy will include working in the Health and Wellbeing Coffee Shop/Deli however, you may be required to work in other areas of catering within organisation.



The receipt, checking for quality, temperature, correct quantity as per order to suppliers and the storage of such goods in the appropriate area within the time limits set out in the department policy on HACCP.

To be able to demonstrate the ability to serve food to staff and to be able to check temperature levels and be aware of the Food Temperature Regulations.

Operating the central dish wash machine, cleaning, drying and checking of the crockery and cutlery.

Preparation of vegetables, fruits and salads.

Service of food in the Dining Room and associated areas and preparation of
sandwiches, hot snacks and beverages where applicable.

Operation of the cash register.

Awareness of appropriate image/appearance to suit service needs.

The Coffee Shop Supervisor is responsible for the effective day to day control and direction of all Coffee Shop/Barista Assistants in that area. Furthermore, they are responsible for the provision of a high quality and efficient, customer orientated catering service and compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.

The post holder will act as a role model to members of the Catering department, offering support and guidance to other staff within the department, following the principles of compassionate and collective leadership.
