Robust MDT processes will support you and your clinical decision making in relation to the children and young people you assess. As a senior colleague you will have opportunity to offer clinical supervision to others as well as offering mentorship to band 5 colleagues, students and trainees. You are expected to engage in clinical supervision and be able to communicate with children, young people, families and partner agencies both verbally and in writing to promote mental health recovery. We are a countywide service with some cross county working. You will hold a caseload of children and young people experiencing varying levels of complexity, demonstrating awareness of how moderate to severe mental health difficulties affect children and young people. You will undertake risk assessments and risk management of individuals presenting with vulnerability, self-harm and/or physical, sexual or emotional harm to themselves or others. You would need to manage and respond to the distress of others and access additional support and advice when needed. You will work closely with other members of MDTs and liaise with partnership agencies supporting interventions that are evidence based and meet the needs of the young person. You would work with autonomy and initiative with the limits of your knowledge, experience and professional training, attending clinical and management supervision, and working collaborative as part of the MDT.
