Summary

As a Nursery Practitioner, your role is crucial in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children under your care. You will have a genuine passion for working with children, and your expertise will shine through as you create enjoyable and educational activities for them to grow, play, and learn. Embracing the key person approach, you will be assigned a specific group of children, fostering a special bond with each of them through meaningful interactions.

Alongside your core responsibilities of ensuring the safety, welfare, and education of the children in your care, you'll also take on important safeguarding duties. This entails promptly identifying and addressing any safeguarding concerns that may arise, following established protocols and procedures to guarantee the well-being and protection of the children.

Planning in accordance with the children’s interests, needs and abilities to maximise opportunities for them to meet next steps and key milestones in accordance with the development matters curriculum framework.

§ To attend all internal and external meetings and training courses

You will provide support to your room leader and fellow practitioners, collaborating closely with them to maintain a cohesive and harmonious environment. Together, you will work as a team, sharing insights, ideas, and resources to enhance the children's learning experiences.

Building strong relationships with parents and guardians is an integral part of your role. You will communicate openly and effectively, sharing information about the children's progress, achievements, and any concerns. By fostering a partnership with parents, you will create a supportive network that promotes the holistic development of each child.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will serve as a positive role model for the children, demonstrating kindness, respect, and inclusivity in your interactions. Your conduct and behaviour will inspire the children to emulate these values and develop essential social and emotional skills.
