Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Health Support Officer - Food Partnership to join the Public Health andamp; Integrated Commissioning Team within Sunderland City Council.andnbsp;
We are seeking an individual with drive and ambition to take a public health approach to lead on the development and implementation of an agreed programme focusing on the sustainable food agenda, health inequalities and the commercial determinants of health, ensuring a focus across the life course, as part of the Healthy City Plan.andnbsp; andnbsp;
You will have a passion for and knowledge of sustainable food: food that is produced, processed, traded and disposed of in ways that are economically, environmentally andamp; socially sustainable and an excellent track record of implementing programmes in a range of settings, along with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
You willandnbsp; have a proven track record of partnership working with a range of statutory, voluntary and academic agencies to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Sunderland. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of food poverty, in your personal and/or professional life and of involving andldquo;experts by experienceandrdquo;, i.e. people who have lived experience of an issue in their personal lives. You will be well placed to be able to further shape the work, now that the public health approach to improving the food system has been established.
