Summary

As Head Chef at Sodexo in Sullom Voe Oil Terminal, Minor Road, Shetland Islands, ZE2 9TU, you will plan, execute, and manage the production and delivery of daily food ensuring exceptionally high standard in accordance with company and client expectations and service level agreements. What you’ll do:

  • Ensure compliance with designated menu planning criteria and uphold rigorous standards for food quality and cleanliness in our service.
  • Maintain adherence to budgetary constraints while maximising resource efficiency. This entails effective stock management, prioritising food safety and minimising waste. Additionally, ensure the achievement of contract food costs and proficient menu compilation.
  • Ensure the ordering of foodstuffs and the prompt service of all meals at required times to Company and Client specifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, along with all pertinent regulations and industry standards.
  • Uphold stringent adherence to the Food Safety Act, including meticulous temperature control and comprehensive food hygiene practices.
  • Ensure that personal working hygiene standards and those of staff for whom you are responsible meet both the company and statutory requirements.
  • Uphold exceptional standards in both food preparation and cleaning services, ensuring all catering equipment is operated and maintained safely and hygienically. Promptly report any equipment defects or malfunctions.
  • Proactively engage in learning opportunities and foster a culture that promotes and supports team training and development.
  • Promptly report any incidents of fire, loss, damage, spoiled food, or other irregularities or deviations from the contract. Take delegated corrective actions swiftly and effectively.

What you bring:

  • Qualifications:
    • City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 or
    • NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation or
    • Five Scotvec Catering Modules
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Safety Certificate (ISOH)
  • Two years of experience in catering/people management

Package Description

We're seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our exceptional team at Sullom Voe Oil Terminal, located in the captivating Shetland Islands. This position presents a distinctive work-life balance, with an impressive 26 weeks off annually.

  • 73.5 Hours per week 3 weeks on 3 weeks off
  • £36,595.00
  • Transportation from Aberdeen to Sheltand and back to Aberdeen.
  • Ensuite, single room accommodation provided
  • On-site Gymnasium and fitness suite as well as a Convenience Store and Bar
  • Full uniform.

Please note that because this employment is full-time, it is not suited for a student visa limited to 20 hours of work during term time.
