Summary

What is this role?

A SEN Teaching Assistant supports teachers and help children with diverse learning needs. In this role partially, you will be working outside of the classroom itself, and working 121 with a child with SEN. The child is of primary age and finds the classroom over stimulating, therefore requires additional support to learn and work outside of the classroom in a more sensory appropriate space.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be vital in this child's learning and development in school , and therefore the SEN Teaching Assistant must be able to build a relationship with the child top best support them and their needs.

Responsibilities of this role?

The SEN Teaching Assistant will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the student, including:

Individualised support: You will provide one-to-one support outside of the classroom, assisting with academic tasks, and facilitating their inclusion in classroom activities
You will build positive relationships with the child, promoting high self-esteem and independence.
Adapt instructional materials: Modify and adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students with special needs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
Adapt communication style to respond to pupi according to their individual needs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to share information, monitor progress, and ensure coordinated support for students with special needs.
Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education) and child protection policies. Promoting the safety of all children in the school.

Ideally the school want to receive CV's from us ASAP to narrow down for trial days etc to be held ASAP - Ideally you will hold Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools but it is not necessary!
