We are recruiting for Senior Social Workers in Adult Social Care (ASC).
Positions available:
- Post 1: Waveney, Permanent (Flexible Care and Support Team)
- Post 2: Ipswich, Permanent (South Rural team)
- Post 3: Woodbridge, Permanent(Integrated Neighbourhood Team)
- Post 4: Woodbridge , Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months(Integrated Neighbourhood Team)

Senior Social Workers are passionate in demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations. Managing your own complex caseload, as well as supporting your colleagues with theirs, you’ll be a source of specialist advice and enable the mitigation of high levels of risk. You’ll also bring professional expertise to contribute to the development of practice standards. You will have experience in developing strong working relationships with partners, other agencies, and the voluntary sector to deliver improved outcomes.

What you will need
You’ll bring significant experience of social work, modelling good practice and providing advice and guidance in complex situations. We’re also looking for your ability to mentor both newly qualified and experienced team members. As, a subject matter expert in relevant professional practice, you should have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
You’ll also need:
- to be a qualified, registered social worker and have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- evidence of 2 years continued professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards
- an in-depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages
- the ability to make clear decisions, to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.

The Teams
Waveney - The Flexible Care and Support Team (FCST) is a busy team working to across the whole of the Waveney area in Suffolk, carrying out Care Act Assessments. This team provides crisis support when needed, ensuring that Reviews, and urgent S42 investigations are carried out and the person is at the centre of the assessments.
Ipswich - South Rural is a busy Integrated Neighbourhood Team, working across both health and social care, to a large rural area in Suffolk.
Woodbridge - You will form part of the Integrated Neighbourhood Team delivering social work services, occupational therapy, reablement services, community nursing and physiotherapy. We moved into our new building at Riduna Park in Melton, in December 2023 which has contributed to our integration, leading to better outcomes for the people of Woodbridge.

Travel requirement
All our staff are provided with Information Technology and devices to allow more flexibility in the role and access to systems such as LAS when working with clients.
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role, you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
