The Role:

As a Tax Senior/Consultant , you'll play a pivotal role in the team, assisting a Partner with a range of responsibilities including:

• Assist the Partner in managing a large portfolio of private tax clients including property landlords, partnerships, sole traders, High Net Worth clients using CCH Tax software.
• First point of contact, alongside the Partner, for any potential new clients from carrying out an initial meeting to dealing with onboarding procedures including due diligence, engagement letters and fee quotations.
• Plan and control the tax return compliance to ensure targets met and preparing weekly statistics.
• Preparation of annual P11D forms for approximately 140 clients.
• Preparation of Trust tax returns and ensuring the Trust tax register is updated.
• Farmers averaging calculations to achieve the most advantageous tax position.
• Capital gains tax calculations for individuals including claims for appropriate reliefs.
• Completion of the new CGT returns relating to the sale of residential properties.
• Principal private residence relief/letting relief calculations, holdover elections on gifts of business assets.
• Delivery of tax advice and research for the Partner to deliver to clients.
• Dealing with EIS/SEIS investments and making the appropriate Income Tax Relief and CGT Deferral claims.
• Dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients including enquiry notices and penalty appeals.
• Ensure technical knowledge is up to date by attending courses and webinars to adhere to CPD requirements.
