Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.

We are looking for a Mobile Multi Skilled Technician (Mechanical Biased) to join our Building Services team in Kent.

The role will carry out Mechanical Services (Plumbing/ Pool Plant Maintenance / HVAC and BMS), Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Works in time to meet strict KPI’s on our Kent County Council maintenance contract.

You’ll:

Conduct PPM and planned maintenance, response, and fault analysis
Carry out fault finding and plant adjustments, check and inspect mechanical services, plant, and systems, and complete maintenance tasks in accordance with contract specification
Carry out general duties which require multi skilled discipline, including but not limited to re-lamping luminaires, fault finding to electrical wiring systems, motors, generators, lighting systems, chillers, AHU’s along with cleaning of foul water systems, drains, inspections, and repair of all M&E systems such as extract and supply air ductwork systems, plumbing and heating systems
When required, conduct reactive and Extra Work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with HASAWA legislation and Our Way of Working
Implement & comply with the procedures as detailed in the company’s Health & Safety Policies, Statutory obligations and in accordance with the Skanska IFE (Injury Free Environment)
To ensure daily work sheets and maintenance & inspection records are completed and submitted on a timely basis
Work in a fast-changing environment and be self-motivated to deliver first class engineering to a wide range of mechanical plant. Including and not limited to, Plate Heat Exchangers, Pressurization Systems, Control systems, motors, pumps, generators, CHP, FCU’s, AHU’s, drainage, toilets, plumbing and heating systems.

Good ability for fault-finding and plant adjustments to ensure unnecessary waste of utilities.


We’re looking for:

Minimum of Mechanical City & Guilds/NVQ/BTEC level 3, or equivalent.
Desirable Skills include Gas Safe / Electrical training / BMS / Pool plant experience/
Legionella prevention & water treatment, Water Regs, Unvented Systems
IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH Modern CoSHH.
Experience in Building Maintenance
Good Knowledge of Building Services and Water Regulations
Good Knowledge of Health and Safety and CoSHH.
Good ability for fault-finding and plant adjustments to ensure unnecessary waste of utilities.
