Summary

Due to continued growth, our Client is looking to appoint a Senior CNC Programmer working 07.30-16.30 Monday to Friday. With solid CNC Programming experience, you will be comfortable being the 'Go to' person for machining issues - taking a lead in problem solving activities, producing the set up and tooling sheets, setting up programmes swiftly and providing all the information for the Operators to do their work. Continually looking at processes and efficiencies within the machine shop.

  • Programming and setting CNC Lathes and/or CNC Milling Machines ready for main line production
  • Training and developing machine operators through setting requirements, Quality standards/ measurement tools and techniques
  • Routinely checking and monitoring Machine Shop throughput/efficiencies
  • Support in/ lead activities to help reduce set up times and improve machine utilisation
  • Support implementation of 5S activities throughout the machining areas
  • Supporting New Product Development by programming and machining for prototypes/samples and test pieces
  • Highlighting developmental needs within the department and supporting the Supervisory team with training throughout the team

Core Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years working with CNC Lathes and/or Milling machines
  • Experience using Mazak CNCs desirable
  • Ability to coach and train using hands on teaching methods
  • Proven experience of participating in, or leading cost reduction/efficiency savings in a manufacturing/machining environment through use of Lean tools
  • Ability to write programs for CNC Machines
