Summary

Our client who are an expanding Packaging Company located in the Newton Heath area of Manchester are seeking a competent Human Resource Officer who will also be responsible for Purchasing on behalf of the business.

The candidate must have 2-3 years HR experience, strong computer skills, working primarily in Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience of working on SAGE Accounts is advantageous but not essential.
Daily tasks will primarily be within human resource however they will also include purchasing and supporting the office where necessary.
This position will also be responsible for a number of reports.
Managing your time and checking paperwork will be a crucial element of your job and so you must feel comfortable in sending reports on for senior management review.
This role is ideal for someone seeking a varied, busy and rewarding role that offers constant opportunity for development within a commercial setting.

The role is based on working Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm but salary will be based on previous experience.

Salary - TBC dependent on experience

Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

Develop and maintain a HR Management system for the company in line with ISO accreditation.
Assisting management to understand and implement policies and procedures. Liaising with those involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety.
Recruiting staff; which involves job descriptions, preparing adverts, checking applications and shortlisting for interviews.
Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management.
Preparing Staff handbooks; advising on pay and other remuneration
issues.
Administering payroll and maintaining staff records.
Interpreting and advising on employment law.
Developing HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements.
Planning and sometimes delivering training - including inductions for new staff.
Analysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers. Reporting system to be developed.

Purchasing:

Maintaining Sage Supplier and Product records
Managing business Purchasing process ensuring all processes and paperwork are adhered to
Obtaining supplier quotes as required
Obtaining supplier POD and Statements
Cost Saving - Ensuring the business is receiving the best prices for all purchases, look for alternative prices.
Help with cost saving schemes.

Site Support:

Processing any site orders the same day and updating the orders board to reflect the date they can expect the item.
Ensure two-hour response time is always adhered too - this applies to both the customers and site.
Provide solutions for any unexpected events occurring during the working day
Ensure paperwork coming from the site is acceptable - thinking about the information required from the report.

Project Work:

As this is a new role for the business there will be quite a lot of project work to get the systems and process up and running. They need someone who plans their time well and works on their own initiative.
